Short animated movies are great to watch. Everyone has an original idea, a creative concept, compressed in maximum 15 minutes animation. Most of them are awarded or nominated for the Oscar Academy Awards. If you don’t have time to watch all at once, consider bookmarking the article. Some of them are funny, others came with an unexpected final, others impressed in animation and storytelling but all have huge emotional impact on the viewer.

1. The Lost Thing
A boy finds a strange creature on a beach, and decides to find a home for it in a world where everyone believes there are far more important things to pay attention to. Won 2011 Oscar Best Animated Short Film.
Police chase an armed criminal in a version of Los Angeles comprised entirely of corporate logos. Won 2010 Oscar Best Animated Short Film.

The personifications of daytime and nighttime learn to get along.
Two Octopi fight for their lives with a stubborn restaurant cook in a comical escape through the streets of a small Greek village.

In an old forgotten military base far from civilization, a group of deranged military officers nurture their insanity.
A stage magician’s rabbit gets into a magical onstage brawl against his neglectful guardian with two magic hats.
9. In the Head
Antoine Bertrand, a young man, leaves his girlfriend Anna, to enroll in the army. A day of conflict, this one draws a bullet in the head. Antoine will then arrive at the gates of Paradise.

A janitor at an alien night-club gets his wish to be a singer. Won 2003 Oscar Best Animated Short Film.

Two buskers engage in a petty feud over a child’s donation.

Everyone knows that the stork delivers babies, but where do the storks get the babies from? The answer lies up in the stratosphere, where cloud people sculpt babies from clouds and bring them to life.

A voodoo doll must find the courage to save his friends from being pinned to death.

A one-man project created between 1998-2006.
A teenage alien tries to abduct a sleeping human, but with so many switches to do so, it’s nearly impossible.
18. Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty
Granny O’Grimm, a seemingly sweet old lady, loses the plot as she tells her version of Sleeping Beauty to her terrified Granddaughter.
19. This Way Up
A.T Shank & Son have a bad day at the parlour when a falling boulder flattens their hearse. Emotional and literal pitfalls lie in wait for the odd couple as they make their way cross country with just a coffin for company.
20. The House of Small Cubes
As his town is flooded by water, an old man is forced to add additional levels onto his home with bricks (cubes) in order to stay dry.
