A couple of days ago I was reading some articles about what clients demand on a project and the features they are interested in. One of them is using the MouseWheel for different actions like scrolling text, zoom in and out etc.

In this tutorial I’ll explain how to create a magnifying glass effect in AS 3. All you need is a proper height resolution picture (I used a 1200px x 800px image) for a good magnifying effect and a few minutes to read the following guide lines.

The topic chosen for today is by far a novelty, but being a Flex developer it’s a must know thing at least (in case you haven’t used it yet). Besides, information about Adobe frameworks is always useful, especially since this one is part of an open-source project.

We begin this week by offering you a very useful free file from Flashtuning. It’s about an AS 2 flash component that can be used for displaying credits for a movie, video clip or product. All you have to do is configure a XML file and change some parameters in the Component Inspector according to your needs.

For today’s Weekly Video section I selected the Columbia Adobe User Group meeting where Greg Lunn discusses about the not so new beta releases from Adobe. It’s worth checking it especially for those of you who aren’t so familiar with Flash Catalyst, Flash Builder and Flex framework.
